OK forget the weather, summer must officially be here because all the good shows have disappeared off our tv’s to make way for festival coverage and reality shows!!!

Now I don’t mind the occasional dose of this type of show but my TV viewing of choice would have to be well written drama’s, sci-fi and comedy - and there ain’t much of that about!!

I’m planning on watching a new show on BBC1 tonight at 9pm called Bonekickers, it’s about a bunch of archaeologist’s which sounds a bit dull, but the trailers looked good.

I’ve also noticed The Long Way Round - which follows the adventures of Charley Boorman and Ewan McGregor as they bike from London to New York - is being repeated on BBC2, Sunday at 9pm. I really enjoyed this the first time round so it’s probably worth another go, I’d definitely recommend it if you haven’t seen it before.  When are they going to bring out a new show - Long Way Up or Long Way Across or Charlie Does Wheelies Special?

One more  thing to keep me going through the summer will be that great sci-fi show the  X-Files.  Okay it’s not on TV, it’s the big summer blockbuster movie called ‘I Want to Believe‘ is coming out on  1 August. Mulder and Sculley may be older but are they any wiser - take a look at the trailer, doesn’t that theme tune send tingles down your spine?  Maybe I’ll just keep going weekly until Heroes returns….!
