Flight of The Conchords - BBC4, Tuesday, 9.30pm
I really don’t know how I missed the Flight of The Conchords first time around - did it clash with Lost or something? However the BBC are kindly repeating the whole series and I have made sure to watch it this time.
Last night’s show was hilarious, in particular the ‘Mother Uckers’ song and the tiny little viewing box at the end of the show with Bret, Jemaine and the racist fruit vendor flippin the bird at the Australian Embassy - luckily the Aussies can take a joke….
If you want to brighten your day and hear one of their brilliant songs -’Think About It’ - just visit British Comedy Classics to see a great clip.
The duo, or trio (we don’t want to leave Murray out) are filming the second series in New York now and It’s due to air in America in January, so I hope we don’t have too long to wait for it to reach our shores.

New Sci-fi Shows on TV
It was a sad goodbye to Charlie Boorman on Sunday as he finally reached his destination in Ireland to Sydney by Any Means. Great show but I did miss the banter he and Ewan usually share on their escapades.
Two new shows I am perservering with are the completely over-hyped Fringe on Sky 1, Sunday 9pm and Sanctuary on ITV4, Monday 9pm.
They are both the type of show I usually enjoy but I’m finding it very hard to warm to them. The formats are okay, if a little unoriginal, and the effects are good but the characters seem a little shallow.
Unfortunately for them the shows they are trying to emulate are just too excellent to match.
New Star Trek movie aside, I think Lost creator JJ Abram’s will find it very hard to repeat the success he has with the cult show.
With 2008 disappearing faster than our high street banks!….I’m eagerly awaiting news on the return of any of my favourite shows and it looks like the Sky 1 website has just the thing…photo’s of the new series of Torchwood currently being filmed in Cardiff. Click on the link to get your fix!

Heroes - ‘One of Us One of Them’, BBC2, Wednesday 9pm
I’m actually starting to feel quite sorry for Sylar - he has been usurped as the most evil character on the show by his own Mother! He really can’t be blamed for his actions when his own Mother is feeding him new brains to disect! What the heck was that all about?
I do think, however, that HRG and Sylar and going to be the greatest ‘crimefighting’ partnership since Starsky and Hutch. Loved the ‘hands of the buffet’ comment ha! ha!
Hiro and Ando are still on Daphne’s trail altough she has proved herself smarter each time they confront eachother. We still don’t know who she is working for though - I still haven’t decided if it is going to be an old adversary or a new character.
Nikki’s sad story continues with Tracey Strauss meeting up with Mica, who helps her trace a Dr Zimmerman, who is apparantly Tracey’s/Nikki’s/whoever else’s creator. Looks like an exciting new twist could be opening up…..

Desperate Housewives - E4, Sunday 10pm
Be warned anyone who hasn’t yet seen the Desperate Housewives finale due to air on Channel 4 at 10pm Wednesday - this blog does contain spoilers!!
I’m really glad I perservered with this show after it’s lukewarm entrance. Last night’s final episode of Series 4 was a corker. Drama, suspense, great slapstick humour (Carlos opening the closet door instead of the front door was a classic) and a tear jerking ending. The shows motto is definitely ‘Kill Them Off’ for any character that becomes a problem for our ladies and a convenient way to finish off a storyline.
The deceptively urban facade of Wisteria Lane must hide a bigger body count than most horror films!
The best bit is that we only have to wait until next week for Series 5 to start. The preview trailer shows Series 5 is set 5 years in the future, which is a great opportunity to create new storylines and I’m loving the new look Gaby. Is she finally getting her come-uppance for all those years of selfish manipulation and cruelty to Carlos…I very much doubt it!

Heroes - Episode 2, BBC2, Wednesday 9pm
Whoa……someone get me a chair! Give whoever wrote this episode a BIG(ger) paycheck.
Watching mild-mannered Mohinder ripping off his shirt and specs Superman stylee to reveal a body so buff it must have been CGI’d certainly made my day!! Sendhil Ramamurthy, who plays Mohinder, must have spent his break locked in the gym.
Unfortunately ladies, it looks like this vision of gorgeousness will be short lived as the show ended with the power enhanced Mohinder sprouting unsightly growths on his body. Motherflippers!
Elsewhere, following Bob’s death, mother-from-hell, Angela Petrelli, steps in as Head of the Company. We discover not only that Peter’s first power - dreaming the future - came from her, but that she is Sylar’s real mother! Now we should have seen that coming.
We have also found out where Bob got all his money from to fund The Company - he had the Midas touch. I wonder what will happen to his poor orphaned daughter, Elle, now? It doesn’t look like Angela holds any maternal sympathy for her.
Volume 3 has definitely started well, revealing the answers to many of our question from the past two seasons and giving us loads more such as ‘Where did the powers originate from?‘, ‘Who is new character Daphne working for?‘ and most importantly ‘Is future Peter really a baddie?‘ - of course not…he can’t be….can he?
