The exclusive performance was recorded in front of an audience of the singer’s biggest fans with Beyoncé engaging in an interview session with fans in this unique and spectacular show.

To mark the tragic death of one of the UK’s brightest music stars, the Bio tv channel will be showing an updated biography on Amy Winehouse on Saturday at 8pm (Sky Channel 156 and Virgin 242).

A brand new online page on the Bio website is dedicated to the “Rehab” singer with a new photo gallery, video and an updated biography at www.biography.co.uk.

Amy Jade Winehouse first burst onto the music scene with her smash hit “Rehab,” but her incredible singing voice and bubbly charisma was tarnished by tabloid coverage of her drink and drug addictions as well as her wild child lifestyle.

Mathew Horne to host Sounds From The Cities

New Channel 4 Music Show, Sounds From The Cities is to be hosted by star of Gavin & Stacey, Mathew Horne.

Channel 4, in conjunction with new website Bobcom, have announced a new addition to its musical viewing line-up with the launch of an innovative music series, Sounds From The Cities.

The new music show will be presented by Mathew Horne, with surprise co-hosts.  The series will guide viewers through venues nationwide in the company of both established artists and new musical talent.

Mathew Horne is an actor, presenter, comedian and also an accomplished club DJ. A regular on the circuit with his own club nights, he has presented and DJ’d on BBC Radio’s 6 Music and Absolute Radio. He also presented the Brit Awards alongside James Corden and Kylie Minogue (though that is best completely forgotten!) as well as the NME Shockwaves Awards.

Sounds From The Cities will review the regional music scene, analysing both the heritage and future outlook, and will feature guest performances from some big names throughout the nation. The four-week series will begin on Wednesday 9th February and will be broadcast each week from different locations across the UK.

An innovation in its documentary-come-live performance blend, Sounds From The Cities will break new ground in addressing the changes inherent in a music industry driven by information technologies. Inclusively spanning the nation, the series will feature voices from Cardiff, Edinburgh, Belfast and Nottingham.

With his headline guests, Mathew Horne will discuss the world of the web and downloads, and the culture-changing dynamics inherent in new music trends across the UK and Ireland. Sounds From The Cities is designed as a musical re-evaluation. But it will also showcase new-meets-veteran jams and unveil the indie-minded up-and-coming talent that other shows overlook.

Writer/producer Michael Feeney Callan, Bobcom’s Chief Executive, stated, “Since the download revolution up-ended the traditional music industry the direction of contemporary music has shifted. No one has really examined the ground-shift and how artists, their output and their objectives have changed. Sounds from the Cities addresses that.”

Callan went on to say, “There’s a torrent of talent uninterested in grooming and gameshows, [...] Among these, we believe, are the new Bob Dylans and culture-changers. These we want to draw attention to.”

On presenting Sounds From The Cities Mathew Horne said, “I’m excited to be working with Bobcom and Channel 4 on this fresh and innovative take on music history.”

But Hannah Montana Forever, the latest in the Hannah Montana series, looks set to become one of the most popular among fans of the character with a famous double life.

For those of you that have never seen Hannah Montana, the show’s based on the idea of a girl (Hannah) played by Miley Cyrus, who leads two rather separate lives. Not only is Hannah Miley Stewart by day – a young teenager facing all the trials and tribulations at high school – she’s also a world-famous pop star.

Unlike many pop stars, though, Hannah leads a double life as no-one at her school knows that Miley Stewart is really Hannah Montana. By day Miley will be worrying about her French homework or her latest crush, while by night she’ll be performing in front of thousands of adoring fans.

Hannah Montana has struck a chord with audiences in the US as many kids know what it’s like to go to school all day and dream of being a pop star at night: the important difference, of course, is that Miley doesn’t dream it, she lives it, and that’s part of her huge appeal.

Part of the show’s popularity is the funny and interesting characters that feature, starting with Miley/Hannah. Many of the personalities have been around for the first three series and will continue to make appearances in the fourth. So, who’s who in the world of Hannah Montana?

Robby Stewart is Miley’s dad, who’s not only a single parent but also Miley’s manager. As her mother died from cancer when Miley was just two, Robby has to be both a mother and father figure. As you’d expect, they are very close. It probably wasn’t that hard for Miley Cyrus to play Robby’s daughter as he’s played by her real-life father Billy Ray Cyrus.

Believe it or not, Billy is also Miley’s manager in real life; talk about art imitating life! They enjoy a great relationship on the show although like any father with a young daughter, Robby is always keeping a watchful eye over Miley, making sure she’s doing as well at school as she is on stage.

Jackson Stewart is Miley’s laid-back, somewhat lazy and slightly dim older teenage brother. Although Jackson and Miley often argue, they have a real love for one another and are always there when needed.

Lilly Truscott is Miley’s best friend and was a huge fan of Hannah Montana before she even found out it was Miley. Now she knows the truth, Lilly attends Hannah’s concerts and is part of her entourage. To help keep Miley’s secret safe, Lilly attends Hannah’s concerts in disguise as her alter-ego Lola Luftnagle.

Lilly is an excitable sporty type who loves skateboarding, surfing and cheerleading. When Lilly gets excited she’s prone to doing the odd cartwheel and although her and Miley sometimes argue and occasionally fall out, they always make up and remain best friends.

Oliver Oken is Miley’s closest guy friend and also knows the secret of her really being Hanna Montana. Oliver is funny and confident, although some would call it cocky, and after a series of on/off girlfriends began dating Lilly.

Oliver also created an alter-ego called Mike Standley so he too can attend Hannah’s concerts without giving her secret away.

Rico Suave is the manager of Rico’s Surf Shop where Miley’s brother Jackson works, and is anything but a best friend. Unlike the rest of the main characters, Rico doesn’t know Miley’s secret, which is probably a good job as it’s not certain that he can always be trusted.

Another character who features prominently is Jake Ryan; a famous television actor and Miley’s on-screen love interest.

Hannah Montana is as famous for its songs as its characters; after all, with Hannah being played by Miley Cyrus you’d expect her to be able to sing the odd song or two.

The Hannah Montana theme song, The Best of Both Worlds, has been a hit in several countries and made the charts in the UK.

Disney has pulled out all the stops with the associated website, which is full of great interactive features and Hannah Montana games that you can spend hours enjoying.

There are games such as Hannah Montana dress up, where you have to help get Hannah ready for her concert by dressing her in the right style. There’s also roomy room re-do, which involves giving Hannah’s bedroom a serious makeover.

If you’re into music and fancy yourself as something of a producer then the sound board mix up game gives you the chance to fill in for Robby Stewart and help Hannah to produce a hit single.

All the interactive features on the website mean that you can get to know more about Hannah Montana if you’re something of a newbie to her world, or if you’re an avid fan you can put that knowledge to good use. There’s a quiz on the site to test your Hannah Montana knowledge as well as various pictures and Hannah Montana wallpapers to add to your collection.

Disney has stated that series four will be the final one for Hannah Montana, so now is the last chance you’ll have to see just what happens in the double life of one of America’s most famous teens.

MTV have announced that Hollywood superstar Eva Longoria will be presenting the prestigious MTV Europe Music Awards that will be broadcast live from the Caja Magica in Madrid on Sunday November 7th at 21.00 CET.

The event is sponsored by the new Suzuki Swift, Calvin Klein Jeans and Dell and is MTV’s global celebration of the Worlds biggest music and entertainment stars.

The 17th annual EMAs will include performances from rock band Kings of Leon, hot new talent Ke$ha, Kid Rock, Katy Perry and Linkin Park and will announce additional performers and presenters in the run up to the show.

Actress, activist, and philanthropist Eva Longoria brings Hollywood glamour to what promises to be a star-studded night in Madrid.  Following in the very glittering footsteps of Katy Perry, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake and Robbie Williams to name a few, the actress will bring Latina heat to the already sizzling Spanish city of Madrid – the backdrop of this year’s 2010 MTV EMAs.

The Desperate Housewives star said;

“I am so excited to host the 2010 EMAs in the beautiful and sexy city of Madrid! I can’t wait to see some fabulous performances and I am so proud that the two most nominated artists this year are two amazing women – Lady Gaga and Katy Perry – who are making some of the most exciting music in pop right now!”

Although R&B star Ke$ha warns, “Madrid, watch out, I’m coming to party and I promise it will be messy.”

Viewers are invited to vote for their favourite European Music Artists at the MTV EMA website.

Sadly tucked away on the Showcase channel, The Source will broadcast from 12th September to 30th October (video heats Sunday to Friday 9pm and results show 9pm Saturday). The Source will feature 150 acts in all. Those receiving the most votes from the video heats will be featured on the weekly Saturday show (9pm) where they will compete to secure their place in the final (30th October), which will offer them the chance of winning £10,000 and record deal which will split profits 50:50 between the artst and the record company.

The Source is designed to showcase talented, but unsigned acts who write and perform their own music.

Peter Hook’s partners in the project also include Peter Gabriel’s free music site www.we7.com  and Aaron Mellor, MD of Tokyo Industries, co-owner with Peter Hook of FAC251 The Factory club in Manchester, where the Saturday show will be filmed.

Commenting on the launch of the new talent show, Hook said:

“Some people might say why am I supporting this. Yes it is another TV talent show but it’s a TV talent show for performers and audiences who really care about music.  The Source is here to give unsigned artists the vital exposure they need, those other talent shows are bullshit, they’re just made for TV not for the music, this is real, it’s irreverent and different.”

The Source has been created by people who really care about music; Manchester-based Iain May and Ben Martin, who created the show as a co-operative. They say it’s time for new original talent to gain the TV exposure it deserves:

“Recent phenomena such as the ‘Save BBC6 Music’ campaign back up what we’ve long known: that something must change. New music should be supported and nurtured. Exploitation and corporate control are out of touch with what people want,” says Iain May. “We want the public to make the decisions, free from corporate control or editing for ratings.”

Unlike other talent shows, The Source embraces ‘old school’ craftsmanship and skill in music, but, as it gives unsigned bands a much-needed platform for mainstream exposure, it will leverage the new music-biz orthodoxy of ‘do it yourself’ promotion via digital media and TV.

The contest opened in August to unsigned artists and bands of any genre. Entrants initially created a profile on www.bethesource.tv, uploading their own amateur music videos; music-lovers then voted online for their favourite acts. The top 150 acts, as voted for online, are going on to appear on the television show. Over 16000 people have already voted to date.

Suck My Pop with Kimberley Walsh 6 Will Best on VIVA

Gorgeous Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh is joined by the 2009 MTV Faces winner Will Best on the new VIVA channel music magazine Suck My Pop which will be broadcast every Friday at 7pm from July 23rd.

Each Friday, the delectable duo will serve up all the latest showbiz news, alongside exclusive interviews and live special performances from some of the world’s top artists as they rampage through the world of music and celebrity news.

As well as dipping toes into the murky waters of showbiz gossip and pop culture each week, Suck My Pop will deliver the Official Chart Update.

It’s all about ‘feeling your emotions’ this week in Glee, as Mr Schu sets the club another challenge;  he wants them to bond more with each other and Glee wouldn’t be Glee if it wasn’t all done through the medium of song. The kids get paired up randomly with the most unlikely partners to sing their hearts out to with some rather shocking results. Someone develops an obsessive crush for Schu himself and a certain set of parents are not happy when they hear some unexpected news, but in the end through all the tears and heartache, the true meaning of friendship prevails as things get tough for two particular young lovers.
