MTV have announced that Hollywood superstar Eva Longoria will be presenting the prestigious MTV Europe Music Awards that will be broadcast live from the Caja Magica in Madrid on Sunday November 7th at 21.00 CET.

The event is sponsored by the new Suzuki Swift, Calvin Klein Jeans and Dell and is MTV’s global celebration of the Worlds biggest music and entertainment stars.

The 17th annual EMAs will include performances from rock band Kings of Leon, hot new talent Ke$ha, Kid Rock, Katy Perry and Linkin Park and will announce additional performers and presenters in the run up to the show.

Actress, activist, and philanthropist Eva Longoria brings Hollywood glamour to what promises to be a star-studded night in Madrid.  Following in the very glittering footsteps of Katy Perry, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake and Robbie Williams to name a few, the actress will bring Latina heat to the already sizzling Spanish city of Madrid – the backdrop of this year’s 2010 MTV EMAs.

The Desperate Housewives star said;

“I am so excited to host the 2010 EMAs in the beautiful and sexy city of Madrid! I can’t wait to see some fabulous performances and I am so proud that the two most nominated artists this year are two amazing women – Lady Gaga and Katy Perry – who are making some of the most exciting music in pop right now!”

Although R&B star Ke$ha warns, “Madrid, watch out, I’m coming to party and I promise it will be messy.”

Viewers are invited to vote for their favourite European Music Artists at the MTV EMA website.

Edie returned to Wisteria Lane in spectacular style last night (although it doesn’t really seem like more than a couple of weeks since we last saw her!).  Unfortunately she appears to be married to the latest neighbourhood psycho…..hmmm I wonder who his victim/s is going to be?

Bree is still a control freak, but her eyebrows are now so high on her taut forehead that they almost meet her hairline!  Good to see she is back with Orson though.

Susan and Mike have split following their tragic accident and in this first episode she appears to be relatively calm and almost in control of her life – let’s see how that pans out!

Lynette and Tom’s lives also seem unchanged – they now just have teens-from-hell instead of kids-from-hell.

The biggest turnaround seems to have happened to the Solis household.  Gaby has become a dowdy mother of two daughters who seem to have inherited her worst personality traits.  Now I thought Gaby was told she couldn’t have children after falling down stairs and loosing her first baby, so are these two adopted?  Hopefully this will be explained at  some point in the future.

I wonder if the real reason Gaby has had this wardrobe transformation is so the billowing smock tops can hide a real pregnancy when it happens – or has it already?

Overall it looks like the show can only benefit from the shake-up and I’m looking forward to the rest of the series.

Be warned anyone who hasn’t yet seen the Desperate Housewives finale due to air on Channel 4 at 10pm Wednesday – this blog does contain spoilers!!

I’m really glad I perservered with this show after it’s lukewarm entrance.  Last night’s final episode of Series 4 was a corker. Drama, suspense, great slapstick humour (Carlos opening the closet door instead of the front door was a classic) and a tear jerking ending.  The shows motto is definitely ‘Kill Them Off’ for any character that becomes a problem for our ladies and a convenient way to finish off a storyline. 

The deceptively urban facade of Wisteria Lane must hide a bigger body count than most horror films!

The best bit is that we only have to wait until next week for Series 5 to start.  The preview trailer shows Series 5 is set 5 years in the future,  which is a great opportunity to create new storylines and I’m loving the new look Gaby.  Is she finally getting her come-uppance for all those years of selfish manipulation and cruelty to Carlos…I very much doubt it!
