Peter Kay’s latest charity single was a massive hit on the BBC Children in Need charity broadcast on Friday 20th November, a stroke of genius from the comedian brought together an endless list of children’s favourites, through the medium of animation, in a performance that Bob Gelfdof would have been proud of.

Whether you like the track or not it is impossible not to be impressed by the brilliant video, that brings together over 100 famous icons from children’s TV over several generations.

From Muffin the Mule to Andy Pandy, Rainbow to Thomas the Tank Engine and Teletubbies to Bob the Builder, the video is crammed full of memories for the child in us all.

The single includes a medley of popular songs for all generations to enjoy; Can You Feel It (originally by The Jacksons), Don’t Stop (originally by Fleetwood Mac), Jai Ho (originally by Pussycat Dolls), Tubthumping (originally by Chumbawamba), Never Forget (originally by Take That), Hey Jude (originally by The Beatles), and One Day Like This (originally by Elbow).

Peter Kay, Executive Producer comments, “Children, parents, grandparents – in fact everybody is going to enjoy this. I can’t believe it’s come together and I’m extremely proud of all the work and time everybody has given to the project.”

The single will be available for download following its exclusive world premier on BBC Children in Need. Pre-orders can be bought as a bundle from itunes on Friday 20th November. Excited fans can then buy it on CD and DVD from Monday 23rd November in all key retailers across the country.

BBC Children in Need organisers say they have pulled off  a massive coup by getting some of the biggest music stars to contribute to the official Children in Need single this year.

Without naming names-it is a secret after all-the BBC have issued the following information to get the speculation and rumours going;

They say they have brought together THE greatest supergroup of all time, who have been involved in top secret recording and filming for the single that will get its official premier on the Children in Need show on November 20th.

The artists involved in the project have together sold over two hundred million albums as well as forty number one singles and the BBC boasts that they even managed to pull a ‘few of the greats out of retirement’ to perform on the charity single.

The operation is the most secret gathering in pop history and will not only record the single but also a special video that will premiere at the BBC Children in Need show on November 20th and will transmit live in a world exclusive!
