To mark the tragic death of one of the UK’s brightest music stars, the Bio tv channel will be showing an updated biography on Amy Winehouse on Saturday at 8pm (Sky Channel 156 and Virgin 242).

A brand new online page on the Bio website is dedicated to the “Rehab” singer with a new photo gallery, video and an updated biography at www.biography.co.uk.

Amy Jade Winehouse first burst onto the music scene with her smash hit “Rehab,” but her incredible singing voice and bubbly charisma was tarnished by tabloid coverage of her drink and drug addictions as well as her wild child lifestyle.

Hits such as “Valerie” and “Back to Black” helped the young star from Camden Town to an illustrious career winning 23 major awards and bringing jazz to a younger audience.

With all the negative press coverage and criticisms that followed the 27 year old throughout her life it is her music that she will be remembered by.

Starting in January, Bio™ will follow the emotionally gripping stories of families desperate to convince troubled loved ones to seek the help they need.

Capturing the drama as it unfolds, the idea behind the series is to show that there are people who care and can help addicts overcome their vice.

Intervention starts with a conversation and ends with addicts getting the help they need. Eventually, many agree to try to get clean and go to rehab but it can be an uphill struggle for anyone trying to convince them that they have a problem.

Emotions run high as addicts struggle with their demons and reveal the sources of their suffering and insecurities. Often turning the spotlight on the very people trying to help, drastic changes can lead to incredible breakthroughs.

When families can’t cope, they turn to experts to help remind those suffering what there is to live for and how to kick their harmful habits. From January, Bio will reveal their personal battles in this powerfully candid series.

Intervention provides a means of recovery for those who no longer have an option.

Melanie Sykes hosts this new and exclusive to Bio makeover show which aims to bring some glamour and glitz to the school gates by spending some time sprucing up Britain’s mums.

With two boys of her own, Mel is only too aware that it is not easy looking your best when chasing round after the kids and she will be on hand to take the glamour squad of beauty experts on a tour of the UK in an attempt to turn the playground into a catwalk.

Led by hairdressing legend Nicky Clarke, the experts will surprise ‘mums in need’ at the school gates before whisking them off for a day of pampering.

They will then transform the mums whole look in time for returning to collect the kids from school, while turning a few heads at the school gates. With no idea that they’ve been nominated, the mums are in for the treat of a lifetime!

This looks like a make over programme with a difference, as it features eight women who have been betrayed, shattered and heart broken by their ex boyfriends and who will spend the next six weeks overcoming their battered self esteem by totally revamping themselves and rebuilding their lives.

Follow the girls on Re-Vamped as each day brings a new challenge and even with a team of experts at the helm there’ll be tears, tension and tantrums as they have six weeks to transform themselves into red hot vixens. Will they face humiliation or get the revenge they’re looking for?

Unbelievably the family labelled as Britain’s laziest and fattest return to our screens for a second helping of Lorraine Kelly’s Next Big Fat Challenge at the end of August.

The Chawners came to prominence when daughter Emma appeared in the X Factor auditions and was so awful she was sent packing by Simon Cowell and the other judges, only to be confronted by the head of the family who considered that the experts had no idea when it came to spotting talent.

Luckily I managed to miss the first series as I will again for the new series, it is hard to imagine why anybody would be vaguely interested in seeing a TV company throw money at a family like the Chawners.

Lorraine Kelly has her work cut out in her second attempt at getting this family off their backsides and into work, if you are interested enough the new series premieres on August 24th at 8pm on the Bio Channel.

The Bio channel is introducing two new shows to it’s Psychic Thursday schedule, displaying the effects of the supernatural with everyday people in everyday life.

The UK premiere of In My Life, a documentary about X Factor judge and Music Manager Louis Walsh will be shown tomorrow night, Tuesday 8th December at 9pm on Bio (The Biography Channel).

The documentary includes candid and personal contributions from other X Factor judges, Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne as well as fair input from Louis himself!

Bio delves deep into Walsh’s life from his early days starting out managing Johnny Logan to Eurovision success to Boyzone and their disastrous performance on The Late Late Show through to major achievements with Westlife as well as Boyzone.

In his life time Walsh has masterminded the careers of some of pop musics favourite artists, as well as Johnny Logan, Boyzone and Westlife, the canny Irishman was also behind the successful careers of Girls Aloud, Samantha Mumba and Shayne Ward as well of course as the solo career of Boyzone’s Ronan Keating.

Accompanying Louis Walsh are personal accounts from some of the biggest stars from the UK music scene including Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Lulu, Westlife, Sinitta and Ronan Keating alongside footage from and behind the scenes of X Factor, on the publicity trail with Westlife and Boyzone; up until the death of Louis’ friend Stephen Gateley in 2009.
