Brian Pern is an ageing rock star who once fronted the extremely successful prog-rock band Thotch who were both flamboyant and massive in the 1970’s.
These days he is more concerned about making video blogs expressing his personal interests and political views than he is about making music.
He is no longer the flamboyant character that led Thotch, he is solo, serious, bald and fat and would rather argue over whether gorillas should wear bullet proof vests to protect them from poachers than finish his latest album.
It is of course a spoof series featuring the Fast Shows Simon Day as Brian Pern and unsurprisingly the character has already attracted celebrity followers Peter Gabriel, Brian May and Dave Gilmour.
The series, simply called Brian Pern is an ITV studio production for BBC and is broadcast exclusively online. Brian Pern series 2 can be viewed at BBC comedy from Friday July 16th.
